Charity Northan is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, global missions' leader, and faith-based mental health advocate with more than 20 years of experience supporting individuals, families, and communities through seasons of crisis, trauma, and transition.
Charity holds two master’s degrees—in Psychology and in Clinical Mental Health Counseling—and has completed doctoral-level coursework in family systems and leadership. Her approach is both clinically sound and spiritually grounded, blending evidence-based methods like CBT and trauma-informed care with faith-based values, deep empathy, and cultural humility.
She has traveled and served in over 26 countries across five continents, bringing mental health training, emotional support, and healing spaces to underserved communities affected by poverty, violence, war, and systemic injustice. Whether working with trauma survivors in Africa, leading healing retreats in Asia, or serving in crisis response roles in the U.S., Charity’s heart remains the same: to help people heal, rediscover purpose, and walk in freedom.
Charity is the founder of Faith Solutions International, a global initiative that bridges the gap between professional counseling and spiritual care. She has trained hundreds of leaders, hosted international wellness conferences, built community help centers, and empowered churches, schools, and nonprofits to address mental health with confidence and compassion.
In addition to her counseling and global work, Charity is a sought-after speaker in both professional and ministry settings. She speaks passionately on topics such as trauma recovery, emotional wellness, faith and mental health integration, crisis intervention, and leadership development—bringing clarity, inspiration, and truth to every stage she steps on.
She also brings lived experience as a single mother as well as a black woman who has had to navigate gender inequality, bias, and racial injustice in professional settings and academia. Her work is especially meaningful to those who feel like outliers—the ones who have been overlooked, misunderstood, or burdened by invisible pain.
Whether in a private therapy session or listening to her speak in a seminar or conference, Charity creates a safe and sacred space for you to breathe, be seen, and begin again. Her gift is meeting people where they are—with strength, humility, and a deep belief in God’s power to restore.
